MediCoinSwiss adds a tamper-proof trust layer to the DPP – for full control over origin, authenticity and ownership
- What is a Digital Product Passport (DPP)?
A DPP is a digital profile of a physical product. It is structured in accordance with EU regulations, specifically the new requirements of the EcoDesign Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 and the upcoming Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR).
It contains:
- Information on materials, CO₂ footprint and repairability
- Data on production, origin and supply chain
- Information on certifications, ESG compliance and recyclability
Starting in 2027 – initially mandatory for:
- Batteries (in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2023/1542)
- Textiles
- Electronics
- Building products
Why a DPP alone is not enough
- A DPP is only as secure as its carrier medium.
- A printed QR code can be copied.
- Digital data records or PDF certificates can be manipulated.
Without physical evidence:

- Real-time proof of ownership
- Tamper detection for packaging, opening, or duplicates
